Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

My Kai is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

1. Who We Are

My Kai is operated by My Kai Ltd. If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@getmykai.com.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

Personal & Health Information

Content You Create

Usage Data

Location Data

Third-Party Account Data

Purchase Information

3. How We Use Your Data

4. Third Parties We Work With

Apple

Manages all subscription payments and in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment processing. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never your payment details.

Google Cloud Storage

We store recipe images and user-uploaded photos securely on Google Cloud. Data is stored in encrypted buckets and is not used by Google for advertising purposes.

AppsFlyer

We use AppsFlyer to understand how users discover My Kai (e.g. which ads or links led to a download). AppsFlyer may collect your device's advertising identifier. You can opt out of this tracking at any time — see Section 8.

Apple, Google & Facebook (Sign-In)

If you choose to sign in using Apple, Google, or Facebook, you will be redirected to their login pages. My Kai receives only the basic profile information (name and email) that you agree to share. Any data collected by those providers during login is governed by their own privacy policies: Apple, Google, Facebook.

Instacart

When you tap "Checkout with Instacart," you are redirected to Instacart's platform. My Kai does not share your personal data with Instacart — any data collected during your Instacart session is governed by Instacart's Privacy Policy.

5. International Data Transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK or EU, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as standard contractual clauses — to protect your data in accordance with applicable law. Our image storage via Google Cloud uses servers within the European Economic Area (EEA) where possible.

6. Personalisation & Automated Processing

My Kai uses your meal history, food preferences, and nutrition data to make personalised recipe and meal plan suggestions. This may involve automated processing to build a profile of your preferences. You have the right to object to this processing by contacting us at privacy@getmykai.com.

7. Data Retention

8. Your Rights

California Users (CCPA)

All Users

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@getmykai.com or visit our Privacy Choices page.

9. Opting Out of Tracking

My Kai uses AppsFlyer for marketing attribution. You can opt out of this tracking at any time by visiting our Privacy Choices page or by adjusting your device settings:

10. Links to Other Websites

My Kai connects to third-party services in two ways. First, if you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, you will briefly visit their login pages. Second, when you tap "Checkout with Instacart," you are taken to Instacart's platform. In both cases, once you leave My Kai, this privacy policy no longer applies — those providers' own policies govern any data they collect. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of Apple, Google, Facebook, and Instacart before using those services.

11. Do Not Track

Some browsers and devices offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is currently no industry-wide standard for recognising or honoring DNT signals, My Kai does not respond to them at this time. You can opt out of tracking through our Privacy Choices page instead.

12. Children's Privacy

My Kai is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@getmykai.com and we will delete it promptly.

13. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted password storage, and secure cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
